Girls GETT it together at program to introduce trades

The British Columbia Institute of Technology’s “Girls Exploring Trades and Technology” (GETT) program is designed to allow young girls in grades six to eight to try their hands at trades.

Participants build a go-kart from scratch and then race their creations at the end of the five-day program.

GETT provides hands-on experience in design, carpentry, painting, machining and shop safety.
