Galleries Saint-Hyacinthe to undergo major expansion, renovation
By 2010, Galleries Saint-Hyacinthe du Groupe Beauward will be the biggest shopping mall in the Saint-Hyacinthe area.
Centres d'Achats Beauward Ltée intends to invest more than $50 million in a major development of commercial centre “Galleries Saint-Hyacinthe.”
The plan is to double the mall’s size to a million square feet, increase the number of stores from 100 to 150 and create more than 1000 new jobs.
Apart from commercial areas, the developer intends to increase by approximately 82,000 square feet the center office space and to create a new underground parking lot for over than 1,050 cars.
Construction will start in September 2008 and, if everything goes well, the new Galleries will be available to shoppers in fall 2009.
Groupe Beauward also has commercial assets in Joliette, St-Eustache and St-Jerome.
