Armtec Infrastructure Income Fund acquires Burnco Concrete Products

An Ontario-based company has made a move into Alberta’s concrete products market.

Armtec Infrastructure Income Fund acquired Burnco Concrete Products Ltd. (BCPL).

Armtec recently announced that it is in the process of closing the deal for $50 million.

The Southwestern Ontario-based maker of sewers, pipes and bridge components said the purchase is expected to close soon.

“With facilities in Calgary and Edmonton, Burnco Concrete significantly expands the Con-Force division’s standard product offering in Alberta and further extends our product diversity,” said Charles Phillips, president and chief executive of Armtec.

BCPL produces a wide variety of precast concrete products and pre-mixed package products, including office and warehouse insulated wall panels, high-rise office panels, architectural wall panels, steps, stairwells and pre-mixed concrete, mortars, stuccos, cements and hollowcore.

Burnco is a fourth-generation family business established in Calgary in 1912 by James F. Burns.
