Crane hits Calgary train

A mobile construction crane struck a commuter train in Calgary injuring six people on Aug. 27.

CBC is reporting that than an Enmax crew was using the truck-mounted crane to work on powerlines, when the boom swung out and hit the front of a light rail transit train. The boom arm smashed the front window and then swung out over traffic on Crowchild Trail in the northwest part of the city.

Three train cars derailed.
