First national engineering summit planned

Key national organizations with a stake in the engineering industry have teamed up to host Canada’s first national engineering summit.

To be held May 19 to 21 in Montreal, the summit will provide a venue to identify steps to affect positive change “for a healthier, cleaner, safer, more competitive and sustainable” Canada in a global society.

The summit is being sponsored by Engineers Canada, the Association of Canadian Engineering Companies (ACEC), the Engineering Institute of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students and the National Council of Deans of Engineering and Applied Science.

“This event will be a unique opportunity for both the engineering community and other key stakeholders to plan for the future of the engineering industry and profession,” said ACEC president Jeff Morrison.

The summit will be held at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel.
